Google acquires DoubleClick

In case you have not heard already; DoubleClick, famous for its excellence at SEO has recently been acquired by Google. I don’t know what to say… It does not make any sense. Why would Google buy a marketing company. Especially one that does SEO. Do they need someone to seo websites on their own search engine? What if i was to pay DoubleClick (Google) to rank my blog above BMW for BMW? Would they reject me? Would they accept me and get a team of SEOers on the case or would Google simply put me above BMW with a click of the button? Obviously this is a purely hypothetical question.

There must be a marketing trick behind this.. Let’s wait and see what google will do on DoubleClick..

Yes, no doubt. They are not idiots at Google. Its just the whole situation is somewhat ironic
