New domain name craze is about to start
Have you ever thought about going back in time? Have you ever though about what it would be like if you were to buy a bunch of popular domain names lets say 14-20 years ago? You would most likely be a very rich man by now. Business.com sold for $7.500.000 back in 1999. Sex.com on the other hand raised over $14.000.000 a few years ago. Don’t you wish you knew this 20 years ago?
According to this BBC article you may soon have a second chance to grab yourself a unique domain name as Icann (Net regulator) decides to broaden the horizons and allow even more domain name extensions to come to live. Looks like it is going to be a gradual process however we may see more and more extensions becoming available in near future. Could one of them turn you into a millionaire? I guess we will wait and see.
PS: I am selling a 125px by 125px banner spot on the top right for $120/6 months rather than usual $300, so grab one now. This offer ends on Friday.

You right llia there are some exciting things on the cards for the industry as a whole. Just not sure how it will all work. PS - Did you get the lead I sent you re the company in the UK requesting SEO services (Goran)

I have no idea. The only Goran I had received emails from was spamming with with some nonsense. Apart from that I get contacted by UK based seo companies all the time so I have no idea which lead is yours. Anyhow, I really appreciate your help and thank you for point potential clients to me.

Although this is a good news I don’t think anyone can make fortune from the new tld’s but yes creativity will pay off. I’m looking forward to buy toi.let and kissmy.ass lol! Just kidding anyway!

I agree that this will be a wind-fall for domain owners but not because of the new extensions. Personally I think this will simply water down the demand for domains in general.
I do believe it will make .com domain even more valuable. I bet these will begin to be seen as the more “legitimate” domain. Maybe begin to develop the authority of a .org or .edu domain. Actually it seems that this is happening already a little bit.
Just my two cents

It should be interesting to see what people come up with. It’s still early to tell, but, if something seems like a good idea, go for it!
I know people who bought early shares of Google on a whim…we can all figure out how that turned out!

Chuck, You might be right about .com domains. I guess the end user is now so used to it whenever you try to find a company website you just type the company’s name and add .com to the end.
