Learn from other webmaster’s success.
Whenever I get stuck for ideas I like to check out other established websites being sold on various webmaster markets. For example Sitepoint or Digital Point. This is probably the only time a webmaster is willing to share his revenue, traffic and other details with you. When you find an interesting niche or a website idea don’t hesitate to ask the seller a few questions. Ask them how they got where they are now and what promotion methods worked best. In most cases you should get a honest response. Now if you really lack creativity you can simply go and recreate the same idea. I prefer to stand out from the rest so I always add a little twist. At the end of the day an original website idea will pretty much promote itself.

Thats a nice tip, also I like the idea of going at Ebay and browsing around and finding products being sold to have an idea of some niches (I just found stamp to be a pretty sticky and profitabkle market).

In my business perusing the market for fresh and successful ideas is all a part of the game. I like the idea in general for inspiration… but I have a few trust issues with some of the fellas over at SitePoint. Good tip though!

As per PB’s comment above, I also keep a good eye on the market too. What is selling, what is not, any sites out there that could be done better etc….this is how we get on in this business by learning and applying what we learn.
I learn a lot from reading this site and while I am not here to copy you I do have a question about this template you use. I set up a blog for my brother using this template and had serious issues getting the comments to work correctly. Did you have to do anything special to get yours set up??? I have been meaning to ask you for a while!
Cheers Ilia.

Digital Point Forums is legendary for the goodies you can find there. Your approach is a bit sneaky, but a good trick nevertheless.
