Blog commenting and Akismet
Leaving your comments on various blogs can be an excellent way to develop some backlinks, especially if you make it into the top commentators list. However instead of leaving useful comment and actually contributing to the blog, many webmasters make the mistake of going wild and pretty much just spamming every blog they see. As a result their comments get marked as spam. This means that in most cases Akismet (spam filter many popular blog platforms run) will book you as a spammer and all your future comments will end up filtered out. In other words you will never be able to comment with the same url again.
Because we do make mistakes, you have another chance. Simply contact Akismet guys and tell them that you regularly comment on various blogs and it looks like somebody has marked you as a spammer. Make sure you give them all the details eg. url you use. They should give you another chance. Just don’t mess it up again
Hope this helps all the guys who’s legitimate comments I have just dug out from my spam folder.

Hmmmm, I never knew that! I didn’t know why some comments would get tagged as spam. Hmm, it’s good to know you can contact the askimet dudes.

I’m too not aware that you could contact Askimet to de-spam the url from their database. So what happen if I purposely spam someone else’s url? I’m then open to the same purported blacklisting too, am I not?
